The Lockheed L-1011 is a widebody tri-jet with a medium- to long-haul range. In the game, there are 3 passenger variants: the L-1011-1, L-1011-200, and the L-1011-500.
The real-life, the L-1011 TriStar was highly advanced for its time, for example, offering an auto-landing capability which allowed the plane to land in low visibility or bad weather. Unfortunately, it came to market right after the McDonnell Douglas DC-10, a similar widebody tri-jet, splitting the market. Ultimately, Lockheed stopped production in 1984 due to its below-target sales, and with this decision withdrew entirely from the commercial airplane business.
