Bloomington is a small city located in Illinois, USA. The city has low ratings that range between 70 and 100.

Airport[]

The default airport here is Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI).

Strategy[]

Due to its very low ratings, Bloomington is almost completely devoid of scheduled flights and is unpopular with players. It is difficult to generate full occupancy out of this city because of this low passenger demand. Players should never open a hub here as they will struggle to make a good profit throughout the game. The city is in a good location in Central USA, with connections that can be made to major American cities (Chicago, Dallas, etc.) Flights to Europe are not recommended due to very low demand which will result in many empty seats. Although the city cannot sustain it, there will usually be no competition out of Bloomington, even in worlds with many players.

Central Illinois Regional Airport is usually empty and will rarely achieve a status beyond its starting level of 2. For this reason, the airport should not be bought unless the player really does not care about their cash or credits. Additional airports here are nearly useless and should never be built unless the player will privatize it for his/her personal use.

The only aircraft that are viable to serve out of the city are small aircraft such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 for flights to large cities. For regional flights planes such as the Bombardier Dash 8 and Embraer E-Jet should be used. Large and medium planes will have very bad load factors and should not be used.
